I have found that Medellin women, as in most parts of the world, love compliments and like it when a guy can make them laugh.
This has proven to be essential for me when picking up women in Medellin. Socially, women are a little different than the southern California women I was used to picking up.
Medellin nightclubs are for dancing, so it’s very easy to go up to a woman in a noisy disco, put out your hand, gesture for her to take it, and start dancing.
I do this often, and many times I will dance one or two songs without even saying a word.
I go to the supermarket and I see beautiful women, I go get my hair cut and there’s a breathtaking woman, I go eat lunch and I see an amazingly attractive woman.
I had to learn everything from experience, and it’s been a blast. For an emasculated man from the United States, this is a nightmare.Penetrating that group of friends, playing “the game” in order to get to your “target girl” is hard work, and sometimes does not work if you don’t speak Spanish well enough for her to understand. To this day, I hear the word used at least weekly outside of work. I still think dating is immoral, but there is no need to use such harsh language. Criticism of beliefs is alright, and in this case it was much needed. A while after this post published, I removed a line from the letter-writer’s update about “sexual deviancy” that seems to refer to LGBTQ people and others. You may see reference to it in the comment section so I wanted to provide that context.Furthermore, I am aware of the underworld of sex tourism in Colombia and I know that there are many strip clubs and brothels in Medellin; however, strippers and prostitutes are not the types of girls that I date, nor is it something I would like to promote, therefore, I will not be referring to that in this post. My situation is a little different than most foreigners here in Colombia.
