This might be due to issues with disk space, disk inode usage or innodb corruption which may lead to the error.

My SQL manager or server PID file could not be found! Manager of pid-file quit without updating [email protected]:~$ /sbin/service mysqld status ERROR!

I deleted ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1 and I was able to start mysql server without any problems.

These files are usually under the mysql data directory.

I then went to attempt to start mysql, as I guess this is a common issue with this, but it just gave a generic error. I found the file .instead .inside the /usr/local/mysql then i change the name *for *and work fine.
